Terms Of Use.
01
What Carzitt is
A marketplace for used aftermarket and custom car parts, with tools for fit, proof, messages and cases. Sellers answer for what their listings say, and buyers and sellers answer for the deals they make.
02
Listing a part
Describe the part as it is. Show any damage, name the car it came off when you know it, and only say it fits a car when you know it does. Buyers: check the fit against your own car before you buy or fit a part.
03
What you cannot sell
Airbag modules and inflators, parts under an open safety recall, and anything that is unlawful to sell. Each listing confirms the part is not under an open recall. EGR deletes carry an off-road and competition notice on the listing and at checkout; Carzitt does not feature or promote them, and the buyer answers for using them lawfully.
04
Prices and fees
Sellers set their price and see what they will be paid. Buyers see one all-in price: the seller's price plus 8% buyer protection. From each sale the seller pays a 3% commission and the card fee of 2.9% + 30¢ on the price, plus 0.5% of the order when Carzitt collects sales tax on it.
05
Shipping and deadlines
Ship within the time shown on the order, with tracking, and with signature on delivery when the part is worth $500 or more. Answer return requests and cases on the order page by the dates it shows. When a deadline passes, Carzitt staff can decide the order on its record.
06
Payouts and holds
Each payout is held after delivery or pickup: 30 days for engines and transmissions, 14 for ECUs and electronics, 3 for everything else. A claim opened in that window keeps the money held until it is settled, and the window is also the buyer's deadline to raise one.
07
Refunds and recovery
The buyer is always refunded in full. The seller bears the card fee on every refund, and the 3% commission too when the part was not as described, did not fit, did not work or was never sent. On those, the seller pays for the return label and the refund is sent when the part arrives back. A refund or chargeback after a payout is recovered from later payouts, or debited from the seller's bank account through our payment provider.
08
Sales tax and reporting
Carzitt collects and pays the sales tax on orders delivered to states where it is registered as a marketplace, North Carolina first. In any other state, until Carzitt registers there, the seller answers for sales tax due on their sales. Carzitt reports seller payments to the IRS on Form 1099-K where the law requires it.
09
Paying and cases
Card payments, refunds, seller payouts and seller plans run through our payment provider. If a part does not match its listing, arrives damaged, or a sale stops moving, open a case. The protection page explains how cases work.
10
When we step in
We can limit an account, or take down a listing or a message, when it looks like fraud, is unsafe or unlawful, or harms the people who use Carzitt.
