What we keep
Your account email and sign-in details, the cars in your garage, the parts you list and the photos you upload, the messages you send through Carzitt, your orders, offers and cases, and anything you send to support. We also keep service logs, a record of each request and whether it worked, so we can find faults and stop abuse.
02
Why we keep it
To do what you ask: show your listings, deliver your messages, take payment and pay sellers, check parts against your car, settle cases and answer support. We also use it to keep fraud and abuse off Carzitt, and to tell you about your account, your orders and your offers.

Cookies
Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. cz_hero remembers which car the home page shows you, picked at random, for 30 days. cz_vehicle remembers the car you chose to check parts against, its year, make, model and trim, for 30 days or until you clear it. Neither holds your name or email. When analytics is on, it keeps a random id in your browser and counts a few chosen events. It does not record your screen or track every click.
04
Who else sees it
Companies that run parts of Carzitt for us: hosting, the database, card payments, email, analytics and, when it is on, the AI behind the part scanner. Each gets what its job needs. Buyers and sellers see what you put in a listing, an offer or a message to them.

Face scans for ID checks
Carzitt asks for your signed consent at /account/id-check before any ID check with a selfie. What is collected: A photo of your government ID and a selfie. Stripe, which runs the check for Carzitt, measures your face in both to see if they match. That measurement is a biometric identifier. Why: To confirm that the person selling a car, or anything else that needs an ID check, is the person named on the ID. It is used for nothing else. Who sees it: Only Stripe. Carzitt gets the result, never the face measurement. Nobody sells, leases or trades it, or profits from it, and it is shared with no one else unless a law or court requires it. How long it is kept: Carzitt asks Stripe to delete the selfie, the ID photos and the face measurement within 30 days after the check is decided, and never keeps them longer than three years after your last use of Carzitt. Your choice: You do not have to agree. Without it, Carzitt cannot run the check, and anything that needs one stays closed to you. You can withdraw at any time; a check already finished is not undone.

Your choices
You can edit or archive your listings, and remove cars and saved searches yourself; removed ones move to your private history. To get a copy of your data or ask for your account to be deleted, write to support.
